Freedom Flight

One student from each school in the GCISD district got selected to go on a special trip called "Freedom Flight". On this trip you will be flying to Washington DC with some of the WWII veterans! You will be seeing lots of famous and historical landmarks. To be able to go on this fabulous and FREE trip you had to be selected. To be selected, you must enter one of the following contests: 1. You must come up with the best design for a coin. The design must symbolize the veterans of WWII in some way. This coin is given out to many people as a memory of the great veterans that fought in WWII. 2. You must answer the following question in the form of literature, arts, film, or photography. How would you thank a veteran? Many people entered this contest and I was one of the 50 people that won! YAHOOOOOOOOOOO! I am so excited to be going to Washington DC! I might even get to be on the news! THIS IS GOING TO BE SUCH A FUN, LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE!!!

One Day I Planted a Seed

I wrote a poem for you guys! Hope you like it!

One day I planted a seed

that seed turned into a tree

and there the tree sat, in the middle of green for all the world to see

Soon that tree made seeds

those seeds turned into trees

and there the trees sat, in the middle of green for all the world to see

and on and on it went like that from seed to tree to seed

and on and on it went like that from couple to few to bunches of trees

and there they sat, in the middle of green for all the world to see

Then one day along came a man who cut down all those trees

so I had to come again and plant another seed

but it took millions and millions and millions of years to return our earth green
