Welcome to my blog! I am going to be writing about different topics throughout the year. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know.
I have just finished reading a book called So B. It by Sarah Weeks. It is wonderful story about a young girl, Heidi, whose mother is mentally disabled. She is accompanied through life by her neighbor Bernadette. Bernadette said she had found a woman outside her door on holding a crying baby girl, Heidi. She had washed Heidi, and after they left she had heard the baby cry again, but she could not go out into the hall and knock on their door because of her A.P. or "angora phobia". Heidi does all the shopping, with the money she wins at the laundromat. Heidi wonders a lot about her family history, and when she finds an old camera in the back of a drawer with pictures, she knows what she has to do. She travels all the way to Liberty, New York by herself (because of Bernadette's "angora phobia") to find out about her family. She finds out extraordinary things, and sometimes its hard for Heidi to think straight in all the commotion. Why, with more things that had happened then she could have ever imagined, and with the loss of some of her closest family members-it is just unpredictable. In the end she learns about her family, but that doesn't really make a difference to who she is. This is a fantastic novel that I absolutely loved.
If you are interested in reading So B. It, you can check it out at the Timberline Elementary library or at the Grapevine public library. You can also purchase this book at www.amazon.com.
